Save the Date: Topsy Turvy 2026
Date 7th, 8th & 9th August

Topsy Turvy is back for 2026 – and this year, we’re beginning the countdown to something special. As Theatre Porto heads celebrates our 40th birthday, we’re inviting children, young people and families to join us in Whitby Park for a joyful, playful celebration.

Expect the park to be filled once again with live music, performances, creative workshops and imaginative outdoor spaces shaped with and for children. There’ll be moments to move, make, watch and join in – from family discos and pop-up happenings to quieter places to explore, create and connect.

This year’s Topsy Turvy is about gathering together – celebrating where we are, and looking ahead to what’s next. A chance to turn things upside down, share experiences, and start the party early as we step into our 40th year!

More details coming soon…

JOIN US: We're looking for a freelance Strategic Communications & Advocacy Specialist to join the Edge of Wonder / Gold & Green programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and champion a pioneering approach to child-centred creative practice and cultural place-making in Ellesmere Port and beyond.

Working alongside Theatre Porto, the Ellesmere Port Cultural Learning Exchange and programme partners, you'll help articulate the value, ambition and long-term legacy of Edge of Wonder and the Gold & Green strategy. From local families and schools to funders, artists, commissioners and national partners, you'll develop compelling narratives that build understanding, advocacy and influence.

We're looking for someone who understands how communications can support long-term cultural change, relationship-building and legacy, and who can translate learning and emerging practice into meaningful stories that resonate locally, regionally and nationally.

JOIN US: Evaluation & Learning Partner

Could you help us uncover the stories, learning and insights emerging through two major new programmes?

We're looking for an Evaluation & Learning Partner to join us on Edge of Wonder and Port of Entry.

This role is about much more than measuring outputs. We're looking for someone who can help us reflect, learn and understand what is changing through our work with children, young people and communities.

We'd love to hear from evaluators, researchers, artists and interdisciplinary practitioners interested in participatory, place-based and socially engaged cultural work, and who understand that evaluation can be creative, relational and story-led.
