Over the a few sessions this Summer, our music practitioner , Dave Martin, worked with young local band, Disadvantage, to develop their sound and record some of their own music.

They were then able to record a video of their recording session with Jason Sinclair Films behind the camera.

These sessions form part of our ongoing creative work funded by the Youth Arts Open Fund. With huge thanks to Blaire MacKenzie for the use of his studio in Marypark.

To view the full video, head to our Moving Gallery on the MADE website.

Friday marked the end of the 2026 MADE for Moving Forward, funded by Creative Scotland , which supports established artists in taking the next steps in their creative journey.

Eight creatives across different disciplines took part in this 6-month support programme which combines peer support, coaching, professional development and training.

We are very proud of this year’s cohort and the commitment and progress they have shown over their time together. Their very last exercise with Ellipsis coaching was “future pacing” which has each individual break down their next steps on their journey onwards, a very important part of finding their own way at the end of the programme.

If you would be interested in applying for next year’s cohort, sign up to the email list on our website to receive all of our updates on training, support and events.

BLACKENINGS!!! We want your footage!!!

As we come to the end of our project to record the history and heritage of this unique pre-wedding ritual, we are looking for final submissions of videos from local Blackenings to add to our existing collection and be edited into a large film.

The project will form part of the permanent collection of the new Pot Still Creative Arts Space which is under development in Elgin High Street.

If you would like to contribute and immortalise your blackening, send us your videos to [email protected] or DM to our socials by Tuesday 1st September .

Please share with our thanks 🙏

We had a cracking Saturday morning learning to make silver pendants along with one of our recent project groups. It was a lovely relaxing way to spend some time as part of a creative wellbeing programme.

Huge thanks to Helen at The Benchworks for her infinite wisdom and endless patience ❤️

We are so happy to see the building works have commenced on the South Street development which will sit at the back of the Pot Still. You can see the back of our building on the right of the picture (very helpfully signposted in the most professional way 😜).
