Straight from hosting one of the best nights of the Festival.

John Dewar & Sons opened their doors for our Festival dinner and cèilidh earlier this year, and we're delighted that Craigellachie and Aultmore are joining us at Distilled: Food & Drink this September.

Two Speyside distilleries with proper character and a loyal following. Craigellachie, still made the old fashioned way with worm tubs, and Aultmore, long known as the Foggie Moss dram and something of a hidden gem beyond those in the know.

Both teams will be on the exhibition floor across the weekend, so come and taste your way through and ask them anything.

Saturday daytime has four things worth planning around.

MASTERCLASS, 11:30 to 12:15
Reviving The Pearl of Speyside, with Tormore Distillery Manager Polly Logan. Built in 1959 as the first new Speyside distillery of the 20th century, Tormore has a story most people don't know. Drams from past and present, plus the new core range.

PREMIUM POUR, 12:00
The Glenlivet 23 Year Old Single Cask Edition, usually only available at the distillery Brand Home. A Second Fill American Oak cask that yielded 168 bottles.

MASTERCLASS, 13:00 to 13:45
Speyburn across generations: the 10 Year Old, the 18 Year Old, a Distillery Exclusive 2008 Single Cask, and the Speyburn 1975 Edition, laid down half a century ago.

PREMIUM POUR, 13:00
Strathisla 19 Year Old, First Fill American Oak, following The Glenlivet in the Premium Lounge.

Masterclass and Premium passes are both limited to 25 per session.

Fifty years in a cask, and two ways to get to it.

Speyburn are with us for both days of Distilled: Food & Drink, on the exhibition floor and twice in the programme.

MASTERCLASS, 13:00 to 13:45, Saturday
Speyburn across generations. The 10 Year Old, the 18 Year Old, a Distillery Exclusive 2008 Single Cask, and the Speyburn 1975 Edition, laid down half a century ago.

PREMIUM POUR, 18:00, Saturday session two
Speyburn 50 Year Old, a distillery exclusive and their oldest ever bottling. Filled in 1975 and matured until 2017 in European oak butts and American oak hogsheads, then finished in first fill Oloroso sherry casks through to 2026.

Deep bronze in the glass, with candied citrus and dried fruit, soft baking spices and a gentle touch of smoke. Normally you would only find it at the distillery brand home during the Spirit of Speyside Festival.

So either Saturday session gives you a route to a 50 year old wh**ky, and the team are on the stand across both days whichever session you're attending.

Masterclass passes include two masterclasses across your session. Premium passes cover the lounge and the exclusive pours. Both are capped at 25 places.

Fancy a Saturday afternoon at Distilled, on us?

We've four Discovery passes to give away for our first Saturday session, 11:00 to 15:00, at UHI Moray, Elgin on Saturday 12 September. Enough for four, so have a think about who's getting the other three.

A Discovery pass gets you in the door, a Distilled tasting glass and lanyard, and access to every producer on the floor. Chivas Brothers with Aberlour, The Glenlivet and Strathisla. Gordon & MacPhail with Benromach and CRN57° from The Cairn. Speyside Distillers, BenRiach, The GlenAllachie, Spey Valley Brewery, Gordon Castle gin and Ùrar Gin, plus more.

Hot food on site from Qismat Street Food and Hoop Dawgs, so you can eat between drams. And don't forget dessert, with Miele's Ice Cream scooping all weekend.

The Pearl of Speyside, by the woman tasked with bringing it back.

Reviving The Pearl of Speyside, with Tormore Distillery Manager Polly Logan.

Built in 1959 as the first new Speyside distillery of the 20th century, Tormore started with a bold vision and an elegant, fruit forward single malt that has long been admired by those in the know.

Polly will take you through drams from past and present, the distillery's architectural beginnings, its house style, and the revival now under way with Elixir Distillers, including the new core range.

Elixir Distillers are on the exhibition floor across both days too, so you can catch the team whichever session you're in.

BenRiach Single Cask Exploration, with Global Brand Ambassador Stewart Buchanan. Four single casks, orchard fruit through to peat, and the man who knows them best on hand to talk you through.

The Glenfiddich 30 Year Old Suspended Time. Thirty years captured in cask, and a rare chance to taste it by the glass. Premium Lounge only.

MASTERCLASS, 18:00 to 18:45
The Art of Maturation, with the Murray McDavid team. A hand-picked selection from their latest release, with expressions from Aberlour, Benrinnes, Glen Spey and Tormore, and a look at how oak shapes what ends up in the glass.

Four distilleries, four very different casks, and 45 minutes to taste what oak really does.

MASTERCLASS, 18:00 to 18:45, Saturday
The Art of Maturation, with the Murray McDavid team. A journey through how exceptional oak casks can transform Scotland's finest spirit.

Founded in 1994, Murray McDavid built their reputation on pushing the boundaries of wh**ky maturation, working with outstanding distilleries from across Scotland and pairing them with carefully selected casks from around the world. This session is about how wood, time and imagination come together.

The tasting features a hand-picked selection from their latest release, taking in a range of styles, regions and cask influences, with expressions from Aberlour, Benrinnes, Glen Spey and Tormore.

Murray McDavid are on the exhibition floor across both days too, so you can catch the team whichever session you're in.

Benriach's Global Brand Ambassador is running a masterclass on Saturday evening.

MASTERCLASS, 16:30 to 17:15
BenRiach Single Cask Exploration with Stewart Buchanan. Four single cask expressions, from sweet orchard fruit to deep, lingering peat, and more than two decades of insight from someone who has spent his career with the distillery.

BenRiach are known for experimenting with cask styles, and this is the format where that actually gets explained.

Masterclass passes include two masterclasses across your session, and places are capped at 25.

CARDHU or Cragganmore in the glass, and the red cups back on the bar.

Cardhu and Cragganmore are both with us at Distilled: Food & Drink, two well known Speyside names with a good deal of history behind them.

Cardhu's early years were shaped by Helen and Elizabeth Cu***ng, at a time when very few women were running a still. Worth knowing while you have a glass in your hand.

The red cup cocktails have become a bit of a Cardhu signature at Distilled, and they are back again this year.

Chivas Brothers are bringing Aberlour Single Malt, The Glenlivet and Strathisla Distillery Home of Chivas to Distilled: Food & Drink, so you can taste your way across three very different Speyside characters.

There are exclusive Premium Lounge pours from all three. The Aberlour 18 Year Old 2007 Vintage Edition pours on Friday evening. On Saturday, The Glenlivet 23 Year Old Single Cask Edition is followed by the Strathisla 19 Year Old, First Fill American Oak. All need a Premium pass.
