What happens when we stop trying to make something perfect—and give ourselves permission to look, experiment and make more freely?
Hello, I’m Helen A. Noyce, an artist and experienced art educator based in Moray.
My own practice moves between painting, drawing, collage and mixed media, exploring colour, light, landscape and place. I’m fascinated by the possibilities we discover when we slow down, look more closely and allow the creative process to take us somewhere unexpected.
This philosophy is at the heart of my new programme of artist-led workshops: carefully considered creative experiences offering time and space to explore materials, encounter inspiring artists and reconnect with your own creativity.
I studied at Edinburgh College of Art and have taught in schools for over 20 years, including 11 years as Head of Art and Design. Alongside this, I have continued to develop my own practice and lead creative workshops for adults and children.
My workshops aren’t about everyone reproducing the same finished image. I introduce ideas, artists and creative prompts, then support each person in developing an individual response.
Complete beginners are warmly welcomed, as are those returning to art or hoping to bring fresh energy to an existing practice.
The programme begins this autumn with Finding Beauty in Ordinary Things at Blair’s Loch, Altyre—a relaxed morning of observation, drawing, collage and mixed media in beautiful surroundings.
If you have been longing to make time for your creativity, I would love you to join me.
