This date in 1963: John passes Paul the autograph book backstage at Kirkcaldy's Carlton Theatre with fans Rona Campbell from Fiji and local girl Jennifer Gemmell.

The second of a three-date Scottish mini tour promoted by Albert Bonici, this saw The Beatles perform two shows, each in front of 1,500 screaming teens.

An article on Pink Floyd's visit to The Two Red Shoes and their stay at the Stotfield in Lossie.

"...The hotel people don't mind our clothes and hair. Think they'd be a bit disappointed if we didn't turn up in fancy dress." Pink Floyd made the epic drive from Great Yarmouth on the east coast of England, to Elgin on the north coast of Scotland, to play at the Two Red Shoes Ballroom today in 1967. They stayed in Scotland for two further shows.

Fell asleep on Thursday 5th October 2023 at Raigmore Hospital, Charlie Edward Gerrard, 41 Mackenzie Park Gardens, aged 73 years. Halls Van Sales, bass player, various bands, most notable Windy Miller and Sold on Soul. Adored husband to Christine, much loved dad to Zoe and Steven, father-in-law to David and Charlene, granda to Connor, Courtney, Jamie, Laila and Fraser, loving brother, brother-in-law and heartfelt miss to many friends in Inverness and Elgin. Funeral service on Tuesday 24th October 2023, at 12.45pm in the funeral home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness, thereafter to Kilvean Cemetery. Warm welcome to all. Donations for the British Heart Foundation can be given at the service or direct using the link below.
