Step into a world of fantasy adventure with an introduction to roleplay, storytelling and tabletop fantasy gaming. This one-hour interactive workshop will give participants the opportunity to experience the basics of a fantasy roleplaying game in a relaxed and welcoming environment, whether they are completely new to the format or already have some experience with tabletop games.

Led by experienced Dungeons & Dragons players and Game Masters, participants will be guided through a self-contained fantasy quest. Working together as a party of adventurers, they will explore a fantastical world, encounter challenges, make decisions and help shape the direction of the story through their choices.

Map your own exciting fantasy world with artist Ruth Waterhouse using some intriguing techniques, pens, paints, dip pens and more.

One of the workshop’s intriguing techniques involves spreading rice across the page to help create the shapes and locations of landmarks. This playful approach allows participants to discover unexpected forms and use them as inspiration, creating landscapes that can develop organically rather than being planned from the outset.

Explore the art of experimental cyanotype!

Experimental cyanotype is a creative twist on the traditional photographic sun-print process. Instead of flat, uniform Prussian blue silhouettes, it uses wet techniques, kitchen ingredients, and unconventional surfaces to create unique textures, blooms, and color shifts.

Create dynamic and vibrant sun prints using a wet cyanotype technique. Get inspiration from the Florence Arts Centre garden and use some of the herbs in a tea ceremony with plant tarot.

A slightly unexpected visitor situation has occurred at Florence Mine… a small herd of cows have decided to abandon the countryside and embark on an impromptu adventure around the site. 😂

Does anyone know who these magnificent escape artists belong to? If you recognise them (or their owner!), please let us know so we can reunite them with their rightful pasture.

They appear to be having a lovely time, but unfortunately “cow management” wasn’t on today’s job list! 🐄🌿
