Samira, a Scottish Aid Worker, goes through a ‘baptism of fire’ during the revolutions in the Middle East. Certain she can make a difference, she takes on mission after mission, but is quickly confronted by the reality of war, aid work and her own disillusionment.

Based on the first hand account of a Scottish aid worker, this story explores how global events shape personal identity, belonging and resilience. Fifteen years after the Arab Revolutions, it asks: how and what do we choose to see?

🎭 Written by Mariem Omari, directed by Shilpa T-Hyland, starring Olivia Hemmati and with a stellar creative team.

Do you want to support peers in their creative journey?

Then our Think Tank sessions are for you.

Come along to our in-person monthly meetings, network with and support other South Asian artists in a safe environment.

The sessions will be facilitated by Niloo-Far Khan (co-founder of South Asian Artists in Scotland) at the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh.

For each session we seek a maximum of 3 artists to share an idea, and 5 for the support and feedback group.

An opportunity to network, learn, and grow as an artist.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you at our next Think Tank.
