Every year, 3 leaving Footlights members are selected as new additions to the Footlights Hall Of Fame. These additions are decided based on their dedication to the society and their ultimate love for involvement in Footlights! Congratulations to our winners!

POSTER REVEAL!!! This year’s musical in a day is ‘24 Hours in a Museum: Gone Musical’. Come along to bedlam TONIGHT to see some historical figures, some chaos, drama, a thrilling chase, and more⭐️

Musical in a Day is returning for its third year at Footlights project. Our members band together to write and rehearse a new original musical all under 24 hours with the aim of raising money for a charity.

This year we have decided to raise money for Medical aid for Palestinians. They provide access to essential health services for those impacted by Israel’s brutal military occupation in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, and Lebanon. MAP’s programmes are designed and delivered by Palestinians, responding in emergencies but also building local knowledge and skills to strengthen health systems in the long term.

MAP’s work is now more important than ever. Along with emergency response they provide mental health and psychosocial support and advocate for Palestinian rights in the UK and internationally.

We in footlights are supporting MAP because we believe in their values and support their efforts. As some of the most privileged in our society it is our responsibility to help those who are some of the least privileged. It is also our responsibility to make a statement that we as a society stand with the Palestinians people and condemn Israel’s ongoing genocide. So please come support us by coming to our Musical in a day on Saturday the 16th of May. 100% of our proceeds will be going to MAP.

On Saturday 16th May, join the (very tired) members of Edinburgh University Footlights for a fun, unpredictable and (potentially) chaotic performance at this year’s annual Musical in a Day!

The show show will have been written, rehearsed and performed within 24 hours from the songs, the plot, the choreography, and everything. One night only and never again join us for something you’ve never seen before.

Following the success of the past two year raising money for charities, this year we a proud to announce that 100% of our profits will be going to Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP). MAP provides essential aid to Palestinians living under occupation in Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Lebanon as well as developing Palestine’s healthcare system to ensure long term impact.

Every penny we raise with this show will go towards MAP, sending our support to those who need it the most.

Applications for ‘Carrie: The Musical’ Co-Musical Director, Assistant Musical Director, Assistant Choreographer, and Production Managers have reopened!

These roles are pivotal to the production and are a fantastic way to get involved with the Fringe festival.
