Are you interested in being part of one of Footlights' production teams? We offer several different chances to get involved with our 3 shows that we prepare throughout the academic year. From directors, musical directors, producers and choreographers, there are many chances to let your passion shine through! We are thrilled to announce that our 2026/27 main term show is the hit musical comedy Urinetown!

A timeless satire about a capitalist dystopia where everyone must pay to p*e, Footlights will be taking Urinetown to the Church Hill Theatre in February 2027!

POSTER REVEAL!!! This year’s musical in a day is ‘24 Hours in a Museum: Gone Musical’. Come along to bedlam TONIGHT to see some historical figures, some chaos, drama, a thrilling chase, and more⭐️

Musical in a Day is returning for its third year at Footlights project. Our members band together to write and rehearse a new original musical all under 24 hours with the aim of raising money for a charity.

This year we have decided to raise money for Medical aid for Palestinians. They provide access to essential health services for those impacted by Israel’s brutal military occupation in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, and Lebanon. MAP’s programmes are designed and delivered by Palestinians, responding in emergencies but also building local knowledge and skills to strengthen health systems in the long term.

MAP’s work is now more important than ever. Along with emergency response they provide mental health and psychosocial support and advocate for Palestinian rights in the UK and internationally.

We in footlights are supporting MAP because we believe in their values and support their efforts. As some of the most privileged in our society it is our responsibility to help those who are some of the least privileged. It is also our responsibility to make a statement that we as a society stand with the Palestinians people and condemn Israel’s ongoing genocide. So please come support us by coming to our Musical in a day on Saturday the 16th of May. 100% of our proceeds will be going to MAP.
