Thank you to everyone who came to watch JACKIE!!! at the Edinburgh Fringe over the past month. We had a spectacular time putting this new musical in front of an audience for the very first time and look forward to developing the show further.

For now, the pillbox hat is going back into the closet, but stay tuned for updates on development and future performances!

The Oval Office will be open to visitors for one final time this evening at 6:30pm to conclude our run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe!

JFK played by Joe McNeice 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

For our next interview, we asked Joe a few questions about his role as the 35th President of the USA…

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙅𝙁𝙆 𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬?
JFK starts to become jealous of Jackie’s overwhelming popularity and delivers the infamous quip “I am the man who accompanied Jacqueline Kennedy to Paris, and I have enjoyed it” through gritted teeth, before repeating “and I have enjoyed it…,” which causes him to spiral into a fit of self-conscious doubt and envy. It’s fun!

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙪𝙢 𝙪𝙥 𝙅𝙁𝙆?
Confident. Controlling. Casanova.

𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙨𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧?
JFK is great in front of a crowd and has charisma by the bucket loads (or “rizz” if you fall into the category of people who have no idea who any of the characters in this show are), but that’s probably where the similarities end. Oh, actually, when I was a child I did have space-themed bedsheets, so we most likely have that in common too.

𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮, 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙅𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙚?
Jackie explores a really funny pocket of American history before things turned darker, but literally nothing in the show is made up. So come along and be amazed when you Google stuff after the show and see that it all actually went down like that!

I often get referred to as a puppy, when I get overly excited over things like; Food, Football, Sudoku Puzzles and Pokemon Cards.

Because the show is hilarious and witty and brilliant. The five of us performing on the stage, and the crew around us are working so hard. We multi-role, switching costumes every few minutes, which is chaotic, but very very funny. You’ll have a laugh and learn things you never knew about the Kennedys!
