About the Show
Kit Finnie: Mabel and Mickey is a solo show, written and performed by Barbican Young Poet and member of the Roundhouse Collective, Kit Finnie. It explores the interaction between the female performer and the figure she chooses to emulate: silent movie actress Mabel Normand. Bearing witness to Hollywood’s dark history, it interrogates the stories we recycle about our idols, and offers an opportunity to reckon with the ghosts of an industry that is reluctant to examine its past. The show is intended to be raw and disorienting, experimental in form and chilling in content, yet lifted by moments of humour, poignant introspection, and poetry.
