Tomorrow, we open the doors on The Space Between Us, an exhibition of poems and images by sisters Rachel Barr and Bridget Grant.
Together, they explore the impact of a glioblastoma brain tumour diagnosis. It is a tender, honest and deeply moving body of work, and we are proud to support it.
The exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to spend time with the sisters’ work and gain a personal perspective on the experience of a glioblastoma diagnosis.

Coming up next Monday (19 October) at 1:30pm - Bear With Me

Join storyteller Jan Bee Brown and musician Toby Hawks for the tale of the young hero Beloved and his Bear.

This event is part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival; and is dementia inclusive and family friendly (age 8+).

Entry by donation (suggested donation £5), with all donations going to support our dementia friendly Sunshine Social Club.

North Edinburgh Arts is owned by the people of North Edinburgh and is here for the long term; over 800 local people have already joined our membership scheme and are community owners of this incredible building.

Over 800 Ordinary Members, local residents aged 16 and over, have joined up so far alongside 70 youth members, and 70 Associates. Our members are all community owners of the North Edinburgh Arts building. We are now having our first Members’ Social, and want to invite you to join us on Thursday 1 October, 6pm - 8pm!

We're delighted to share some good news for North Edinburgh Arts and organisations like ours across the city. Following sustained collective advocacy, the City of Edinburgh Council has backed increased investment for regularly funded cultural organisations and, crucially, opened up new Visitor Levy funding to cultural organisations rooted in local communities.

This decision matters. As a member of the Creative Community Hubs Network, alongside WHALE Arts and Lyra we've argued that community-based culture isn't just about reach or breadth, it's ambitious, professional artistic work that deserves recognition and investment in its own right.

Our Chair, Lesley Hinds, welcomed the Council's decision to listen to both festivals and community arts organisations, and we're looking forward to ensuring community arts and culture have a seat at the table when future decisions about Edinburgh's cultural landscape are made.
