Introducing the Gilded Balloon Show Support Fund 🥳
An initiative designed to help artists overcome the growing financial barriers of bringing work to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In its first year, the Show Support Fund has been kickstarted by a generous contribution from globally acclaimed comedian, writer, composer and longtime friend of Gilded Balloon Tim Minchin alongside his wife Sarah 🫡
In 2026, the fund will be split between five wonderfully talented artists - selected by Karen and Katy Koren - with a focus on solo performers with bold voices:
Alan Jay: Hell Hath No Humour Like A Ga**oy Scorned
Jamie Kilstein: Can’t Tie Knots
Kathleen Hughes: Twig
Madeleine Brettingham: Legend
Lois-Amber Toole: SLAY
We are soooo delighted to finally launch this fund which has been a long time coming and is all about protecting what makes the Fringe special: taking risks on new voices and giving artists the chance to be seen! 🫶
