Welcoming You to Linen City Dunfermline and a lively panel discussion led by three people with expertise in textile and fibre collectives, all building community from the ground up.
How can inclusive textile networks enable us all to make, mend and flourish?

* From 6pm: refreshments and time to mingle before and after our discission.
Welcome Mary Morton
Founder, Edinburgh Street Stitchers, a group who take ‘Stitch It Don’t Ditch It’ banners out to streets and parks to engage with the public, sharing sewing skills to ‘repair what you wear’ and raising awareness of the need to reduce consumption of textiles.
Welcome Zoe Gilbertson
Fashion ecologist, educator and nature-centred, collaborative designer, exploring the process required to develop non-extractive fibre and textile systems. Founder, Liflad CIC, a design lab working at the intersections of fashion, fibre farming and enterprise, co-founder of the Bast Fibre Network, a Churchill Fellow, RSA Fellow, and Member of Fashion Act Now.
Welcome Kate Dyer
Active in Fibreshed Scotland with particular interest in how to engage to create a nature-orientated regenerative textile economy, and with Cofundico, helping to create community orientated funding streams so money find more useful flow in our culture.
