A trailer park somewhere outside of Dallas. Eddie, a heroin-addicted failed stand-up comedian, and his also heroin-addicted volatile girlfriend Mia return home to find a man bound and gagged in their bedroom. Shannon, Eddie's cold and methodical older sister explains she's been tasked with holding the man captive for two days after which he'll be picked up by 'connected' people. If they carry the task out all three of them are in for a major payout desperately needed as both Eddie and Mia are in withdrawal. However, once the gag is removed the man begins to manipulate his captors against one another in a bid to be set free. Pushing each of them to the brink and forcing them to question exactly what they are loyal to.

A claustrophobic, intense, and darkly comic exploration of addiction.

'Scorched' follows Donnell and Lena; a couple attempting to maintain a cocoon of normality in spite of an unknown menace that looms just offstage, threatening everything. Their good-natured teasing turns caustic after Lena falls in love with one of Donnell’s paintings. The pair are sent spiralling into a cycle of escalating hostility and cruelty which eventually turns deadly. It's a high-octane, biting, claustrophobic piece that explores what it’s like to hate the only person you have left in the world.

Our Story

Posing a question is where our work begins, usually a show follows. As a company our work tends to explore different aspects of ourselves and the people around us. We want to understand the emotional complexity behind the decisions we make, decisions that shaped history or decisions that are simply absurd. Each production has a unique voice, process and genre. Yet, what has always been constant in our work is that first question and hoping that when the audience leave, the question still lingers.
