Happy International Youth Day 2026! ⭐
Today is an opportunity to raise awareness about youth issues and recognize the contributions of children and young people to society. It is a chance to highlight the challenges young people face, promote their rights and inclusion, and encourage their participation in decision-making.
At Imaginate, it is our passionate belief that children are a minority population and their rights need to be protected. This means responding to their views and giving them space to express themselves concerning all areas of our work.
We interviewed Ellie, Willow, Jackson, and Frankie, students at Forthview Primary School who have collaborated extensively with Imaginate over the past few years, and this is what they had to say about the impact of our work:
“Children get more heard than before Imaginate was here. Children have become more confident and speak what they want to instead of keeping it in.”
"It gives children more opportunities to get out and speak their voice instead of just speaking other people’s opinions. I just think everyone should just have a voice and everyone should just listen to each other.”
“It helps children build their confidence. It helps them speak to people and give their opinions and do something they’ve never really done before.”
We are proud of the impact our work has had on the young people in our community, and continually work to ensure Imaginate is an organisation where the views of children and young people have space to influence. We invite you to welcome and celebrate the contributions of young people in social, cultural, and political spaces.
