Future exhibition:
David Quinn
Kyoto
4 - 29 July

Join us for the opening on Saturday 4th July from 2-4pm.

Known for his intimate abstract paintings, Quinn creates carefully layered works inspired by book design, musical notation, signwriting, and the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi—the acceptance of transience and imperfection. Built through repeated patterns of lines, dots and grids, his paintings possess a quiet rhythm and meditative quality, with muted colours and worn edges that evoke the passage of time.

Drawing on the artist’s recent time in Japan, Kyoto brings together a new body of work that reflects Quinn’s instinctive approach to painting, where subtle mark-making and layered surfaces create visual haikus that reward close looking.

Now showing:
Shared Material :: Ceramics Showcase
6 June - 1 July 2026

This exhibition brings together sculptural ceramic works by eleven artists. Using clay as a shared point of departure, the exhibition highlights the diversity of approaches, forms and ideas that emerge through individual practices. While united by material, the works reveal distinct sensibilities - ranging from precise and architectural to expressive and intuitive - demonstrating the breadth of contemporary ceramic practice.

Through this focused presentation, the exhibition invites viewers to consider how a single material can generate a wide spectrum of artistic responses, shaped by each artist’s process, perspective and relationship to clay.

Exhibiting artists:
A-S Rope
Dan Kelly
Derek Wilson
Frances Priest
Jane Cairns
Lorraine Robson
Matthew Chambers
Nicholas Lees
Rebecca Appleby
Roger Coll
Steven Edwards

Mary Morrison is from the Outer Hebrides and much of her work draws from the space, light and elemental qualities which are unique to the islands.

Her work suggests liminal spaces, edges, tidal lines – always shifting. She evokes a sense of place and natural forms through the use of materials which include oil, pigment and beeswax. Fluid paint effects often combine with graphic elements and annotation relating to mapping, measuring and music, creating an additional visual language and a tension within the paintings.

Edinburgh based artist Emily Moore creates arresting landscape paintings using an amalgamation of personal source images – usually photographs taken to record her own travels and experiences. Each body of work is a documentation of those experiences, the creative process allowing Moore to recall each place and combine them to create new, anonymous landscapes.
