9 weeks today, we open.

In just 9 weeks, Bare Productions brings the Scottish premiere of Next to Normal to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

A Pulitzer Prize-winning musical about family, grief, love, survival and the things we don’t always know how to say out loud, Next to Normal is funny, brutal, beautiful and deeply human.

Tickets are already moving fast, and we’d love you to be there for this incredibly special production.

A little Sunday glimpse inside the room.

Rehearsals for Next to Normal are well underway, and it’s been a joy watching this company dig into the detail, the humour and the heart of this piece.

There’s a lot of care going into the room, both in how we tell the story and how we look after each other while telling it.

Meet our incredible understudies: Emily Copas as Diana and Gregor Robertson as Dan 💜

Emily and Gregor will take to the stage in their performance on Tuesday 11th August, and that performance is now 90% sold out. So, genuinely, be quick to catch them!

Q - What song from the show has been stuck in your head the most from the show?

A - Emily: it’s gonna be good has definitely been the soundtrack to my life recently!!

A - Gregor: The background singing in My Psychopharmacologist and I is always running through my head. Specifically when the kids go “wee ooh wee ooh”. You’ll hear it

Q - Do you have any pre-show rituals?

A - Emily: I personally love to do some yoga before any performance. Helps settle my nerves and connect in with myself.

A - Gregor: I always have to listen to Opening Night from The Producers before my first show for good luck.

Q - Musicals in general: what’s your favourite type of number: opening number, Act 2 opener, 11 o’clock number, or finale?

A - Emily: For me there is nothing quite like an epic overture and opening number to get my spine tingling with excitement for what’s to come.

A - Gregor: I’m a big fan of an emotional reprise when you get to hear one of the bangers again but in totally heartwrenching way 👀

🎟️ Their performance is Tuesday 11th August and is already 90% sold out, so grab your tickets while you still can.
