It’s Purple Friday, an awareness and fundraising day for LGBT Youth Scotland and Team Medusa are proud to be taking part.

Many of our team have benefitted from LGBT Youth Scotlands services in our younger years and we’re so pleased that they are still around to support the next generation of LGBTQIA+ young people.

Creative Electric have made a donation on behalf of the Medusa cast and creatives and we’d like to encourage you to donate too if you can.

‘Purple Friday is our annual fundraising day where people all over Scotland show their support for LGBTQ+ young people and fundraise for our vital services.

Life for young q***r people is difficult and frightening right now, particularly for young trans people being caught in an increasingly hostile political and media environment. That’s why being a visible ally for them is more important now than it ever has been.’

Nae shame in failure: learning to embrace rejection

I applied to Hidden Door to create a new live art piece. It was rejected. Looking back over my application it was unhinged, so now I’m doing this instead…

A practical workshop and discussion that explores the impact of rejection when working as an artist and how to turn that into something positive. The session will look at the importance of rest and recovery, how to receive feedback as part of a rejection and use it constructively in your future work as well as knowing when to say goodbye to an idea.

Throughout the workshop participants will work together to develop a sculptural work that explores shame which will be exhibited as part of Hidden Door 2025 and Kelburn Garden Party.
Participants are encouraged to bring project ideas that they are keen to develop that have previously been rejected by funders or arts orgs and will have the opportunity to explore their future potential, including identifying appropriate future support, funding opportunities and mentoring.

We have three sessions
Workshop 1 (Thursday 12th) for disabled and neurodivergent artists and creatives
(the site will be much quieter that day)
Workshop 2 (Friday 13th) for the LGBTQIA+ community
Workshop 3 (Saturday 14th) open to all artists and creatives

All materials are provided

You’ll get to explore the festival during the day before the site gets busy and if you want to stay for the evening when there’s live music and performances we can sort you out with a discount code for cheaper tickets.

We’re absolutely delighted with this four star review of Dandelion from The Scotsman and incredibly proud of the team working on it especially the ‘outstanding young Amelia Tuck’.

Amid this year’s slimmed-down festival, the returning Army at the Fringe strand at East Claremont Street Drill Hall is one of the main producers of intriguing new theatre-based work. With The Trick That Fooled (****), one of two shows Kevin ‘Quantum’ McMahon is presenting on this year's Fringe...

We’re donating the box office from Dandelion to Refuweegee because we want to support families who have been displaced by war & don’t have the formal support system forces families have.

If you’d like to support Refuweegee & see some theatre go to https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/dandelion
