Claire Pouget Wright jewellery + mixed media art Contemporary jewellery design and vibrant mixed media artwork created in the heart of Edinburgh Please see my website for more information.

I create unique, handcrafted jewellery from Out of the Blue Drill Hall, Leith. I incorporate precious metals, semi-precious stones, photo-etching and Lazertran to make colourful and quirky jewellery. I also take on private commissions and enjoy the opportunity to meet individual clients' needs. I am inspired by travelling, colour, photography, surrealism, reading, nature and urban environments. I

create mixed media collage pieces fused together from sketchbook drawings, photographs and text. Since 2005, I have worked on various community and participatory arts projects. Working as part of small creative teams I have helped manage, facilitate, and evaluate a wide range of multi-disciplinary arts projects.

We request the Government reconsider the proposal that craft no longer be considered part of the creative industries, as part of the 30 April proposed changes set out in Classifying and Measuring the Creative Industries consultation paper. BENCH SHARE OPPORTUNITY at the Precious Metals Workshop! I'm looking for someone to share my bench with over the next year or so as i've just gone back to uni full-time. It's a large bench with great storage including a lockable cupboard and you'll have access to my permanent bench equipment (pendant drill/bench drill/pickle etc). There's 24hr access to Out of the Blue, plus you'll have access to all the other excellent resources and wonderful people at PMW. It's up for grabs for about £55/month (can be negotiated). Give me a call or email if you're interested (or pass onto anyone you think might be interested) - 07841394554 or [email protected]. Cheers, Claire!

One-off rings that I made especially for the ACJ Eccentri:city exhibition. Each jeweller was given a photograph of a place in Edinburgh to inspire a piece of jewellery to create a collaborative element to the show. I was given a photograph of Edinburgh Castle and the outcome was this series of rings made by sand-casting rocks found on the castle's crags and setting semi-precious stones. I focused on the castle's brutal yet regal history and inspired by Robert Louis-Stevenson's description of 'Auld Reekie', the city on the hill, I chose the rough-cut rocks as my visual stating point.
