🎆 We did a show and we’re so proud 🎆
Whiteboard marked a lot of firsts for us: first “serious” play, first show in a “real” theatre, and first “big risk”. The show was a lot more challenging than what we’ve done in the past, both when it came to casting, acting, staging, tech and even its commerciality. But we still did it and knowing how hard it was makes us even more grateful to everyone involved that helped us pull this off.
We could say that the show was a massive success because in many ways it was: we sold a lot of tickets, our cast and crew did really well and we broke even. These are all things we’re incredibly proud of.
But the truth is that a lot of things also went wrong and we’ve spent the past week reflecting on what happened, why it happened and how we can avoid it happening in the future.
Retrospectives are rough when you know you’ve made mistakes, but they’re also great learning opportunities and we’ve learned a lot from this production - both on a personal level, as a team, and as a company.
The best part is that now we know where we went wrong and we can apply everything we’ve learned in the future to make even better shows, Both for people on stage, behind it, and in the audience.
Over the past year, we have put on 2 shows that we have worked on since the start of the pandemic. It was highly ambitious for us to pull off and we are so excited to take all the lessons learned from this 3-year journey and apply them to our next shows. But first, a bit of rest!
