ZOO turns is 25!

And what better way to celebrate than by looking back at the people who have made the last quarter-century so memorable?

From first shows and packed rooms to new voices, brave ideas, brilliant performances and plenty of Fringe madness, thousands of artists and companies have played a part in the ZOO story.

As we bring this year’s festival to a close, we’re celebrating some of those people and hearing their memories of ZOO.

A huge thank you to for your wonderful words!

Here’s to 25 years and to everyone who has been part of the ride!

Some places are made by buildings. ZOO has been made by the people.

For 25 years, artists from all over the world have brought their work, their ideas, their stories and their imaginations through our doors.

Some shows have made us laugh. Some have made us think. Some have completely surprised us.

To mark our quarter-century, we’re looking back at the people and moments that have shaped our history.

We’re so pleased to share this memory from as part of our anniversary celebrations.

25 years down. So many stories to remember. And, many more still to come.

Congratulations, Verona! This is such a fantastic achievement and so thoroughly deserved.

We’re honoured to have been able to have your show at ZOO and to be part of its journey!

What do 25 years of ZOO look like?

A lot of shows. A lot of artists. A lot of late nights. A lot of questionable decisions.
And more brilliant memories than we could ever fit in an archive.

For our 25th anniversary, we’re taking a trip through the ZOO archives and handing the mic back to some of the incredible people who have been part of that adventure.

Today, it’s over to the wonderful

Thanks for the memories and for being part of 25 years of making things happen.

Here’s to whatever chaos comes next!
