Brought up in Edinburgh by opera-singing parents, the singing bug caught her at an early age. After immersing herself in the music of legends including Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Mica Paris, Michael Jackson and Chaka Khan, Susy soon found out that soul music was her true passion. Now, she is a professional vocalist, songwriter, session musician and vocal coach. Her career lives between Scotland an
d London with her performing, recording and writing for numerous projects centred around neo soul, jazz and dance, with influences from the likes of Lianne La Havas, Jazmine Sullivan, Yebba, Moonchild and Blue Lab Beats.
Throughout 2022 she will be releasing single from her upcoming solo EP ‘Hear It From Her’, bringing soulful groove-led songs about self love, self worth, overcoming grief and championing yourself despite what others may think. The first 2 singles from the project 'Heal' and the title track 'Hear It From Her', are out now. She is also one half of the electronic soul duo Velas7 () with electronic producer and co-writer McIntyre. Their singles 'Reunite' and 'Skin' were released in 2021, and introduced their sonic marriage of dance, soul and electronica, encourage everyone to live life authentically and enjoy themselves with their tribe around them. More music is coming from them later in the year.
