We're going to Wigtown Book Festival in October!

Join Loud Poets' Dr. Katie Ailes for Speak up! an inspiring workshop on spoken word poetry on Sunday, October 4 from 10.30 am.

Through writing prompts and performance games, you will discover how to articulate your unique perspective with creativity and confidence. Whether you're new to spoken word or already passionate about poetry, come write your own unique poetry with us!

This free workshop is for young people under 26 years old.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Loud Poets Grand Slam Final returned to Edinburgh International Book Festival.

The Loud Poets Slam Series is a nation-wide tournament across Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland culminating in a Grand Slam Final with a £3,000 prize! Learn more at www.iamloud.co/slam

Our Grand Slam Final took place at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. Kevin Mclean hosted the event and our Sacrificial Poet was 2025 Grand Slam Champion, Aditya Narayan.

Our judges were Aditya Narayan, Jodie Barnacle-Best, and Callum O'Dwyer.

It's Bandcamp Friday!

Which means, for every copy of The Loud Poets album you buy on Bandcamp, we directly receive their revenue share and can support more of our own creative projects.

In case you're unfamiliar, Bandcamp Friday began in March 2020 when Covid-19 shuttered venues and artists lost vital tour revenue.

Since then, Bandcamp has regularly waived their revenue share and passed those funds directly to artists like us on Bandcamp Fridays and resulted in millions of fans paying over $120 million directly to labels and musicians they love. In addition to helping artists pay rent, or fund album recordings and tours, Bandcamp Fridays have also become a beacon for artists and record labels looking to raise awareness for causes or raise money for charities.

Our next Loud Poets Showcases are in October!

This time, we're welcoming author of C+nto and Maryville Joelle Taylor as touring poet. Joelle joins us at Civic House in Glasgow on Thursday, October 15, the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh on Friday, October 16, and the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen on Saturday, October 17.

Across the tour, Joelle will be sharing the stage with EmmaClaire Brightlyn, India De Bono, Rosy Carrick, Arlo Bayne, Naomi Head, Taylor Dyson, and Tishe.

We're also hosting open mics at our Glasgow and Aberdeen shows again. Sign ups will be open on the door, so come down early to get involved and share your work!

That's a wrap on Edinburgh Fringe 2026!

A huge thanks to everyone who joined us for our shows this August to see the Loud Poets perform. Our Kevin Mclean, Dr. Katie Ailes, Mark Gallie, and Jack Hinks were delighted to perform to such enthusiastic crowds and show you their signature fusion of spoken word and music!

At our final show of the run, we were joined by special guest TJ. Thanks to TJ, Eve Mumford, and Edalia Day for performing with us. We were blown away by all of your work!

A special thanks to our venue the Scottish Storytelling Centre for welcoming us back for the twelfth year, and to our tech Roddy, BSL interpreter Sarah Forrester, and photographer Gilad Zinman for your support this year.
