Review: ★★★ The image of the tortured brooding man, bewitched, bothered and bewildered by some winsome and naïve woman, is long burnt into of literature. Emily Bronte’s Heathcliff has a lot to answer for. Traditionally, these great and tortured men (quite often thinly disguised versions of the write...

Meet Signe, co-producer. Signe is never more than a metre from a laptop, and will not go anywhere without at least three phones. Her mantra is communication, communication, communication, and if your production's social media page hasn't been active in the last 4 minutes she wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole. Lastly she would like to remind those who bullied and mocked her incessant drive and somewhat irritating determination at school that she now regularly works with eighteen-figure deals, so who're the losers now?!

Meet Immy, co-producer. Immy is of humble origins; with only three private jets, four helicopters and ten ponies to her name, she maintains it is hard work that got her where she is today. Immy can be a force to reckon with when it comes to securing finances: she once cut off an arts council member's fingers with a screwdriver when he refused to cough up the funds. Her perfect Sunday would be a long country walk, followed by a neat vodka.

Meet Signe, co-director. She believes in art for art's sake, and will do anything as long as it's outrageous. She longs to direct a one-woman adaptation of 'The Waste Land', where the verse is replaced with physical theatre. She has a variety of rituals she must carry out in every production; for example, every actor must get to know each other blindfolded, naked, before rehearsals begin.

Meet Immy, co-director. She's a small-town girl who moved to the big city in pursuit of her dreams. Her ultimate goal is to adapt the film 'Titanic' for the stage in an immersive production that will play out in sub-zero conditions and in real time. Immy takes a cut-throat approach to her work, and insists all her actors learn their lines by the first rehearsal, otherwise they are wrapped in barbed wire and thrown down the stairs.

Meet Signe, the second - and some would say superior - half of the cast. Since having her first ever line in her first ever play taken away from her, Signe has built on her natural affinity for theatre. Her favourite character in 'We Are Not a Muse' - and arguably her most nuanced, most striking performance - is, of course, Man 2. If Signe were given the opportunity to address her fans, she would ask them to consider why they are so obsessed with her, and instead spend a few moments contemplating the effect celebrity culture has had on our fast-food society.

Meet Immy, who makes up a grand 50% of our cast. A lover of the limelight, Immy particularly takes a shine to the character of Marie: a dazzling New Jersey diva. Quite the diva herself, Immy can often be found singing and dancing her way through life, and is always out to entertain. She hopes to throw some goofs and gaffs at the crowd at 'We Are Not a Muse' on the path to her dream of becoming the next Danny DeVito. If Immy could say one thing to her fans, it would be to remember that she's a normal girl, just like them. She had a hummus stain on her trousers in this picture, but it was edited out in post.

'If we don't like a book, then we put it in the shredder; then we take out all the good bits and we put it back together!' What makes literature great? This raucous romp through a selection of short stories and poetry takes on the patriarchal world of publishing with a satirical twist. Tite and Snob...
