Brien + Brown has now come to a close.

A huge thank you to all the galleries, businesses, artists and people that came to us with beautiful and special works of art. All important for different reasons.

It’s been a pleasure to put our best efforts into designing and making your work as special as we could make it.
Thank you for your patience and understanding that our small team were investing extra time and effort into gesso, sanding, gilding and painted bespoke finishes all by hand.

If you want more of this level of framing visit Johnny Brien in his new space in Roslin.

* COMING SOON: Brian Henderson exhibition & charity auction **

Brian Henderson's solo exhibition 'Eye-Line' opens in the gallery this Saturday, with Brian joining us from 2 - 4pm.

We're delighted to announce that, following on from the successful auction of two of his paintings for charity Jeeps For Peace two years ago, Brian has painted another work which we will auction alongside his latest exhibition.

Jeeps for Peace is a local Edinburgh charity that delivers vehicles to Ukraine via convoy. They have driven over 350 vehicles already, and have grown from the first convoy led by Dominic Harris and a few Ukrainian friends to the larger group of volunteers that make up the charity today.

As another winter approaches, more money needs to be raised for the next convoy of Four Wheeled Drives which will be used to deliver critical supplies of food and medicines, evacuate civilians in danger and retrieve wounded soldiers from the front-line.

The auction will take place online at 6.30 pm on Friday 15th November. We'll be sending out details via our mailing list, so if you'd like to be involved please join via our website. The full sale price will be donated.

We’re delighted to include a collection of new paintings from Angus-based artist Nael Hanna in our new Festival Exhibition.

Born in Nineveh, Northern Iraq, as a young man, Hanna served in the Iran – Iraq war. This was before being awarded a scholarship to study art in Britain.

After a foundation course in England, Nael completed a degree in Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. This was followed by a residency at Hospitalfield in Arbroath where he fell in love with the Scottish landscape and coastline. In particular, the drama of the changing weather.

View Nael’s new paintings in the gallery or online until 31st August.

The title might suggest art that opens up new territories, but the work in Frontiers at the RSA tends to look backwards as much as forwards, writes Duncan Macmillan
