Three years ago, a theatre-maker set out to investigate woman’s tireless pursuit of alone time. She presents her findings, veering between texts from great female thinkers, banal thoughts about crockery and intimate vignettes from a marriage. NO WOMAN IS AN ISLAND runs 13 & 14 November at the Traverse Theatre - tickets on sale now. 🎟️

Macbeth is dead. Who will now heal the land?

Both a response to Shakespeare’s play and to our present moment, Thrice places nine women – three trios – in the aftermath of the story. They remain after the bloodshed, asking what it might mean to live on in the shadow of ruin.

Thrice seeks to challenge the legacy of persecution attached to the word ‘witch’, asking us to listen differently, and to imagine new forms of care and dignity.

Curated and directed by the brilliant Zinnie Harris, a company of professional actors will bring a selection of these powerful new works to life through informal readings at the Traverse on Wed 28 October, before heading to Tron Theatre on Thu 29 October.
