Hello and welcome back from your holidays! To start off Semester 2 we have some available spaces in the Violin and Viola sections! Here is all the information you need to know:

For the audition you will be playing a *3-5 minute piece* followed by *an extract provided by us* via the link in our bio

As these auditions are *online*, submissions must be *videoed* and sent in no later than *4pm* on *Sunday 11th of January*

Exciting news everyone....our 2025 Winter Concert is now official! We will be performing Mahler's arrangement of Schubert's Death and the Maiden alongside an assortment of Purcell and Locke, and a relatively new piece by Joanna Borret that certainly is not overshadowed by our more established repertoire. I know its a little late, but as my debut as publicity manager, I present to you the newly elected committee members!
We have Saleem, who will be updating and managing our (admittedly archaic) website
Duncan, raising funds so that we can afford to perform at such a high standard
Fintan and Jack, who will oversee the logistics of our tour next summer (stay tuned!)
Amy, organising the outreach and charity events outside of our main concerts
Me (also Saleem!) managing this instagram page, designing posters and spreading the word of our fantastic music
And finally Coco, who will be contributing to all these sectors when called upon
We all will be working towards making this string orchestra the best it can be this year, so keep your eyes out and your diaries open

This week we had our wonderful outreach tour to the Isle of Lewis!
We got up to a lot - from sharing our love of music with schools and the local community, to playing a wide variety of games, and exploring some of Scotlands most beautiful landscapes! Some absolutely magical memories were made on this trip!

What a great end to another brilliant semester of music. Many thanks to EUSO’s incredible conductor Will Conway, amazing president Lou, and to our fabulous committee. A huge thank you to everyone who came to listen and support, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! What an honour to have EUSO’s founder Emre Araci in the audience, 33 years after EUSO’s debut concert.
