The Tattoo is taking a break.

After another spectacular show, it’s time for some well-deserved downtime for the Tattoo team.

Our offices will be closed from Monday 7 September and reopen at noon on Wednesday 9 September.

Our Tattoo Performers are part of a year-round community, travelling, attending events and workshops and making connections that go far beyond August.

Massive congratulations are in order! The New Zealand Army Band were awarded the Pooley Sword, voted for by their fellow performers and presented by Tattoo chief executive Jason Barrett and Sebastian Pooley.

They brought the energy and gave the audience and Tattoo crew goosebumps, night after night. The Pooley Sword is presented each year to the act that best embodies the spirit of the Tattoo, chosen by the people who know them best.

Next year's Tattoo is inspired by the power of rhythm, celebrating drumming talent from around the world alongside the iconic Massed Pipes and Drums and Highland dancers, with the Royal Navy as our lead service.

Tomorrow, the BBC is bringing you the best Monday night TV as A Call to Gather hits your screens at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer. We've loved sharing the Esplanade with people from across the world each night, and now we get to bring the show to those who couldn't make it this year.
