Recently married, Yerma looks towards her future with dreams of building a family. But her husband, Juan, has other plans. Displaying the consequences of when private misunderstandings meet social judgement, this translated, non-naturalistic version of Lorca’s infamously tragic play, listens to the repressed echoes of a woman’s thwarted passion and the rage that unavoidably follows.
