Presented by GLASS for the Glasgow International Comedy Festival:

Do you fear your life is constantly permeated by the endless need for comparison, trying to better your life in any way you can, and to know you’re not the worst off of every single person you’ve ever met?

Well fear no more! And get yourselves along to this student-run comedy night to finally know some peace.
Yes, the life of the working world, with it’s labour and toil might get ya down, but there’s nothing to pep you right back up like knowing that there’s some freaks around to look worse.

Yes, putting together a compilation of stand-up & sketches that they’ve optimistically determined to be their ‘best-bits’, the comedians of GLASS aim, at the very least, to satisfy that you’ll get your £3 money’s worth.

Maybe you’ll even enjoy it? Who’s to say? But no matter how it goes, just remember: the GLASS is always gleener on the other side!

[A stand-up & sketch comedy show]

For millennia, man has asked the question, how best can I complain about the arbitrary trivia of my day to day life, and still not seem like an impenetrable bore? Many have painted, many have journalled, and some have even tried therapy... To clarify, all of the above listed mediums work and like, well. In fact, if I were to recommend them from least to most effective, I would list them in precisely that order, personal preference, obviously, but Y'know by-the-by, not entirely disagreeable. Anyway! We've got tickets to sell, and thanks to the medium of stand-up comedy, Strife finds a way - Welcome, to Glurassic park.

Yes, we're aware this pun doesn't exactly work, but it's our 2nd to last show of the year, give us a break! And, Y'know, at this point if you're trusting in the comedic content of our shows *less* than the credibility of our one-off-show-title-puns, then our advertising wasn't really going to work on you anyway, now, was it? God you lot make me sick - just turn up! It's 3 quid, and we've even got the card machine back this time, so no excuses. Wednesday 26th of February, 7:30pm, Tennent's bar basement - be there.

A bracket tournament pitting our favourite comedians against each other and judging who does it better and how! So come along: we'll eat, we'll drink and, if nothing else, we'll get to watch a bunch of funny tight 5s, what's not to love?

Location TBD via the members' group chat

Glasstic surgery - A Stand-up & sketch comedy show brought to you by GLASS:

Another year rolls by and another semester of studying to go along with it... but wait, what's this? Glasstic surgery?! Uh, there must be some kind of mistake- I didn't enrol for this! Is it mandatory? Will there be an exam? Heaven forbid a practical. I mean what's it even about, is it medical? Is it engineering? Oh god, well, whatever it is, it says there's only one in-person session for it, at tennents bar basement, at 7:30pm on Wednesday the 29th of January. Oh, okay, fair enough, it also says 'tell you friends...' alright, well, guess I have to, here goes nothin'

SCANDAL! The members of GLASS have become embroiled in a whole new kind of affair, as they stand to testify to the jurors at the basement of Tennent's bar at 8pm on Wednesday 04/12. Choosing to represent themselves, their ring-leader, insistent upon calling herself the host: Vice-President Nina Owens-Friday will stand the trial of the public in a desperate attempt to prove that the stand-up and sketch society is, in fact, funny enough to justify a £3 entry fee. When asked to comment, the lead defendant said only "we need this."

With the evidence still remaining to be seen, one can only hope that the jurors come to the right conclusion; as the punishment, already well-established for this variety of self-indulgent waffling, is looking to be silence, followed by awkwardly excusing oneself off of stage a little early, and finally, deep shame.

With the trial open to the public, it is encouraged that as many viewers should attend as possible, owing to, if not laughter, the respect that all citizens hold for the judicial process.

Do you find yourself trapped, under an immense sense of pressure as the weight of a thousand suns pulls you spiralling infinitely downwards, gasping for air without so much as a hope of escape?

You might well have considered these to be the symptoms of long-term academic burn out and fatigue, the protracted mental breakdown you've felt oncoming ever since you first learned the meaning of the word 'shame'... that, or you're falling into a black hole.

Either or, nothing a stand-up & sketch comedy night can make much worse, eh? Might even make things a little better, well unless you're actually in a black hole, but then you've got bigger things to worry about.

Anyway, it's £3, it's on campus, and it'll hopefully be quite funny, so, seeya there!
