“Why b**bs?”
When I was 12, a boy in school told me “your tie should be as low as your tits”. When I was 16, an employee in a shop felt it appropriate to stare down my top and refuse to give me a receipt until I had given him my number (I didn’t). When I was 18, a man in a club followed me and took photos of me dancing without my consent. Now I am 21, and a man ordered a b**b pot, received it and then asked me what it was based on, insinuating he had hoped it would be based on my b**bs. Why b**bs? In a society where other people feel entitled to the female body, it’s important to remind ourselves that nobody is entitled to your body except you. Why b**bs? Owning a beautiful piece of art based upon your b**bs is a reminder that in a society that thinks it owns you, the only person that owns your body is you. You are beautiful, you are strong, and nobody owns your body except you.
