NEWS: Seven of Edinburgh's community companies will be taking to the King's stage for the first public production in the newly refurbished theatre.

Capital Theatres - Festival Theatre, Studio & King's Theatre have announced details of the opening events for the newly re-opened on theatre on the first weekend in August.

But before then, Allegro, The Bohemians Lyric Opera Company, Edinburgh Gang Show, Edinburgh Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Edinburgh Music Theatre, Showcase Edinburgh and Southern Light - Edinburgh will be featured in A Great Night Out on Thursday 23 July.

Then on the Saturday, after a sing-along matinee screening of Frozen, Mhairi Black and Kevin Quantum will be bringing the comedy and magic in the evening.

We’re looking forward to welcoming members, family and friends to the annual EDGAS Quiz this Friday (29 May).

The evening begins with optional casual drinks from 7pm at the Edinburgh Whisky House Hotel (formerly the Hampton Hotel) on Corstorphine Road, before we head to Murrayfield Parish Church Hall at 8pm for a pot-luck supper. The quiz itself will get underway at around 8.30pm.

As with our festive pot-luck social, everyone is encouraged to bring food and drink to share.

Quiz entry is £5 per person and members are very welcome to bring along friends and family. You can come as part of a pre-formed team (ideally 4–6 people) or join a team on arrival.

As always, our Quiz Master, Susan has been hard at work preparing a series of fun but challenging rounds — it promises to be a great evening!
