We took our Head of Trade, Stuart, aside to find out what keeps him coming back to Whisky Fringe year after year.

After 23 years, he still lights up when he talks about it. The whiskies change, the exhibitors evolve, but it’s the quiet moments either side of the event that have stayed with him all this time.
The calm before the doors open, and the sense of satisfaction once they close again.

With Whisky Fringe 2026 just around the corner, we asked the team one simple question: “What are you most hyped about this year?”

From dream drams and distillery exclusives to meeting producers, discovering new favourites, and geeking out over all things whisky, the answers were as varied as you’d expect. And more than a few of us just can’t wait to see all of you again, the familiar faces we chat to all year round, finally in the same room.
