Really excited to introduce the All Star Cèilidh band for Saturday - three of scotlands best traditional musicians, John Somerville on the accordion, Steve Fivey on drums and Innes Watson on fiddle. If these guys can’t get dancing, no-one can!

What a pleasure to perform at this lovely The Scottish Government event at Glasgow 2026, to celebrate Scotland’s culture alongside its sporting success at Team Scotland House.

Hearing Neil Gray SNP, Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games ‘s CEO Phil Batty & Commonwealth Sport highlight the positive and global impacts of the Games was inspiring, and it was so lovely to perform alongside the fabulous & . They truly are traditional music’s Gold Medallists!

Well done to the Còisir Alba - Gaelic Vocal Ensemble select, with a special shout out to Donna A Ramsay Dugdale who made a Skye-Glasgow return journey especially for the event. Abair ban-ghaisgeach 💪

Coinnich ris a’ chòisir / Meet the choir is back and today, it’s the turn of Sibelius wonder woman Audrey Iseabail NicPhàdraig.

Name and where you’re from: Audrey MacLeod Paterson. Born in Inverness and raised in Arisaig and Mallaig. Been living in beautiful Argyll since I was a teenager.

What part to you sing? Alto 1 but I am a bit of a faux alto and am more comfortable in a mezzo soprano range.

Fun fact about you? I used to do air ambulance flights (before helicopters and paramedics) when it used to be a nurse from the Southern General Hospital and a a Loganair pilot! I once got to land an Islander plane at Islay airport when we were picking up a patient. I would have loved to go for my pilot’s licence but it was a distant dream on a nurse’s salary!

What do you do when you’re not singing? Music prep for Taynuilt (which I conduct) Atomaig Piseag and Oban choirs, music typesetting, reading, knitting, holding Davy’s jacket when he’s doing his “finely-honed athlete” stuff.

Favourite Gaelic song? Well, I love ‘Mo Mhàthair” because it was my dad’s favourite and always made him cry because he lost his mum when he was 16, but maybe my own favourite (I struggle not to cry when I’m singing it) is Sìleas Sinclair’s fabulous arrangement, in Scottish Gaelic, of Irish bàrd, Brendan Graham’s song of loss during the Potato Famine, Crucán na bPàiste.

Best / Funniest Còisir Alba memory? The cross wee Swedish security guard who hammered on the door of Room 343 in our Eurovision hotel in Gothenburg at 0330hrs to tell us to knock the the ceilidh on the head. She definitely didn’t appreciate my comment when I reasoned it was a quality breach of the peace in 4-part harmony! Our guests from the German and Danish choirs were loving the horo-gheallaidh! No Scotland, no party!

What is your go-to karaoke track? “Summertime (and the livin’ is easy)

If the choir could sing anywhere in the world, where would it be? I’d love to go back to the Estonian Song Festival, Laulupidu, with Còisir Alba. We went with Oban Choir in 2019 and it was a fabulous experience! It is one of the largest choral events in the world and is held every five years in Tallinn. The joint choir comprised more than 30,000 singers.

Coinnich ris a’ chòisir / Meet the choir is back, and this time, it’s satellite member Fergus Reoch.

Name and where you’re from: Fergus from Glasgow, but been living in London nearly 20 years on and off!

What part to you sing? Tenor, though not as often as I’d like to!

Fun fact about you? / What do you do when you’re not singing? I’m a Middle East specialist for a museums and cultural heritage consultancy, so I spend about half my time in Saudi Arabia. Also love cooking (and eating!)

Favourite Gaelic song? It’s a hard one… but if pushed to pick a favourite I’d say as a solo Òran a’ Bhotail, and with a choir I love a bit of Gleann Bhaile Chaoil.

Best / Funniest Còisir Alba memory? Trying desperately to squeeze into a kilt borrowed from a man considerably slimmer than me in the loos of Paisley town hall before the 2023 Mòd opening. Thank goodness for buckle extenders!

What is your go-to karaoke track? Last time I was at karaoke I murdered “Dragostea din tei”… and was glad there was no Romanian language adjudicator!



If the choir could sing anywhere in the world, where would it be? There’s so many amazing places I’d love for us to sing. I just came back from a trip to Lima, so I’ve got Peru on the brain… so I think I’ll say Peru (and only partially because of the amazing food!)

Coinnich ris a’ chòisir/ Meet the choir, featuring Raonaid Deans.

Name and where you’re from: Raonaid Deans, from Cumbernauld but now live in Falkirk

What part to you sing? Sop 2

Fun fact about you? I lived and worked in China for a year. I also once spent the whole night up a tree!

What do you do when you’re not singing? I like to do things that are relaxing. I read a LOT, as well as painting by numbers and walking my dog. In the last few years i’ve got into wild swimming and cold water therapy which i really enjoy as well.

Favourite Gaelic song? Couldn’t choose just one but I absolutely loved the GG’s version of ‘Tha mi sgìth tha’ n Fhògar Seo’ from The Lovat last year.

Best / Funniest Còisir Alba memory? Probably the after-show sing-off thst took place in the car park after Eurovidion with the other choirs. Was electrifying.

What is your go-to karaoke track? I am horrendous at karaoke. Anything cheesy that I can murder is a good contender.

If the choir could sing anywhere in the world, where would it be? Would love to go somewhere else in Europe, possibly singing in a natural landscape.
