National Galleries of Scotland Tour
Wednesday 16th September from 10am - 12.30pm with Suzanne Kemplay

Class Details
This private tour of the Scottish Galleries is a combination of Art History and drawing from works in the collection.

With her extensive knowledge of 19th/20th Century Scottish Art, Suzanne will guide you through the Scottish collection highlighting some of her favourite works. Following on from her tour on 20 Century Scottish Art, she now turns her attention to the Glasgow Boys & Girls at the end of the 19th Century.

As an artist Suzanne will explore what stories the paintings hold and how can they inspire us, which will lead into the second half of the tour which will be sketching from the collection.

NB: Participants will meet at The Scottish National Gallery, The Mound, Edinburgh EH2 2EL. Detailed instructions for meeting will be emailed to participants one week prior to the workshop. Basic materials provided, feel free to bring your own sketchbook

And we're finally back to the routine of it all!
We have another fully packed month for you all here at Birchwood Art Studio. There are 3 workshops, 2 paint & wine events and 2 lost in art sessions to look forward to ✨

Autumn Term is in full swing with the last of our art courses starting this week. There are some places still available so if you're curious why not try something new? Whether you're a complete beginner or a returning creative, there's something for everyone this term and if you can't commit to a full term, we have some taster and drop in sessions you can attend - just send us an email at [email protected]!

Join us for our amazing workshops: lose yourself in the immersive world of painting the n**e, discover the wonders that the National Galleries of Scotland have to offer and learn the fundamentals of BOLD portraiture or if you're feeling like you need an evening away from home why not try one of our paint and wine events? One of our tutors will take you through 'The White Drake' and ' Tulips' step-by-step, whether you come alone, or with a friend you'll get to enjoy some complimentary drinks in our twinkly, airy studio 🥂

This 4-session course is the perfect introduction to photography for anyone looking to improve their picture-taking skills.
