Got Soul Choir

Got Soul Choir Ever had a notion to join a choir in Dundee, Edinburgh, Fife or Glasgow, but think you can’t sing? No need for experience or to be able to read music.

Say hello to fun, laughter, new friends and your inner singing soulful diva. Edinburgh's GOT SOUL is a *Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (registered charity number SC044178); it is a non-profit soul music choir run by volunteers. Edinburgh's Got Soul's main charitable objectives are:

1) To bring people within the community out of isolation by involving them in a community activity,

regardless of age, ability, experience, race, religion or sexuality.

2) To advance community development in by bringing people together, providing volunteering opportunities to give a sense of purpose and to develop new skills.

3) To promote advancement of the arts: through the appreciation, participation and making of soul music along with fun and simple choreographed movement.

4) Open to all from the age of 18 regardless of ability. No auditions, no experience, only enthusiasm and a smile. We run 2 (14 week) workshops a year February and September each culminating in a grand concert. Workshops take place on Tuesday at 6.30 - 8pm

Influences include Lauryn Hill, Mary J Blige and Angie Stone amongst many others. No experience needed & no need to read sheet music. We are also looking for aspiring rappers and D.J's to get invloved - our vision is huge, exciting and ground-breaking!

Evening all.
Unfortunately we are having technical difficulties with the room capacity on our zoom tonight meaning some of you are unable to join us :(
We are working hard behind the scene to get this fixed as soon as possible but tonight's session is being recorded and will definitely be fixed for next week.

Dear Got Soul Family

We are thinking of you at this incredibly strange and horrendous time. Maryam and Lisa, who are still on furlough, are joining us all in sending you our strongest love and very best wishes.

Covid-19, the quarantine, various restrictions and tiers, and our own tears, put a stop to Got Soul as it was, but there ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ to stop us getting back up and singing and we, the trustees, are very excited about the future.

We hope you can be with us in the new year, virtually of course, starting on 14th January 2021. We cannot wait any longer, we want to be together and we are going to sing 🎶!

So, watch this space as more detailed information will be with you within the next two days (13-14 December 2020).
