Liam Rees is a director with a focus on new work. He was an Associate Artist with Dead Centre and has presented work across the UK and internationally. Directing credits include: Little Sister (The Glitch); 5 Shorts (Young Vic); The Land That Never Was (Tron Theatre); Sycamore Grove (Theatre503); The Enlightened (HOME/Junges Ensemble Stuttgart); and The Devil Drinks Cava (A Play, Pie, & A Pint)

We asked our tech designer Ash what it’s been like working on Hope This Helps! and this is what they said…

“The biggest (and most exciting) challenge of designing Hope This Helps! has been the need to choreograph chaos - nature, weather, and the unpredictable landscape outside the controlled conditions of the Retreat aren’t just background ambience, but additional characters for the actors to respond to. It’s been really fun getting to create tension and raise the stakes through sound in particular, and I’m so excited for the audience to feel as though they’re right there in the eye of the storm.”
