I have been deeply saddened by the conflict in Ukraine.

Our world has become so interdependent that violent conflict between two countries inevitably impacts the rest of the world.

War is out-dated – non-violence is the only way. We need to develop a sense of the oneness of humanity by considering other human beings as brothers and sisters. This is how we will build a more peaceful world.

Problems and disagreements are best resolved through dialogue. Genuine peace comes about through mutual understanding and respect for each other’s wellbeing.

We must not lose hope. The 20th century was a century of war and bloodshed. The 21st century must be a century of dialogue.

I pray that peace is swiftly restored ​in Ukraine.

The feeling of the Wood
The poem installation about Biodiversity of Nature.

Dear friends

Please join us to celebrate the biodiversity of nature. See the photographs of the visual installation “The feeling of the Wood”.
The installation took place in Vladivostok, Russia. It brought up together the scientists and the artists from Russia, Scotland, Argentina, France and Mexico. This idea of the artistic composition came from the wood, and we can even say, it is the wood expression about itself.

According to the authors’ idea, the wood language is poetical and includes the lyrics of the forty-three poems which have been typed over on the real leaves of the trees. It is a symbolical reminder of the almost invisible border between the beauty of lyrics, which give us an esthetical joy, and an embodiment of the killed trees which the paper was produced from.

The authors of the project wanted to personify each ordinary white sheet of paper and give them back their real face and body. Moreover, a three - dimensional sound part supported the main idea of the installation. It presented an immersive sound effect on the audience. The soundtrack is based on the records from the field which were collected in the Leningrad region, Russia.

Друзья, присоединяйтесь к нам чествовать биоразнообразие природы через фото инсталляции «Чувство леса».
Выставка прошла во Владивостоке, и объединила ученых и художников из многих стран: России, Шотландии, Аргентины, Франции, Мексики и других. Идея композиции инсталляции «пришла из леса» и является, можно сказать, даже высказыванием самого леса.

Язык леса очень поэтичен и включает в себя 43 стихотворения, строки которых были напечатаны на настоящих листьях деревьев. Это символическое напоминание о почти невидимой границе между красотой поэзии, дарующей нам эстетическое наслаждение, и образом «убитых» деревьев, ставших материалом для листов бумаги.

Авторы проекта хотели вернуть привычным нам, белым листам бумаги их индивидуальность, и вдохнуть в них жизнь. И тогда листья снова смогли бы дышать и чувствовать, становясь частью леса, частью природы.

Дополнительную смысловую нагрузку несёт объемная звуковая часть инсталляции, которая представляет из себя саундскейп композицию содержание которой основано на полевых записях, сделанных в лесах Ленинградской области.

Bluebird in a fly.
We decided to let our “ Bluebird flies” again. It is the first video which we made together not being in the collaboration yet. We released this work in June and immediately was invited to the virtual Performing festival Neverthere by Surge.
Half of the 2020 year was passed. It is still time for The Bluebird fly, which brings hope, love and empathy, reconnection with nature and each other.

"The Bluebird" is a video sketch for everyone who wants to share kindness, emotional warmth and stay connected through this giving. The narrator's line has been illustrated by the movement of a dress shape fabric with the tree bark print on it.
The tree symbolizes the embodiment of the lungs of our planet. Nature is struggling to breathe because of pollution and global issues. That is why humanity experiences an equal response from nature as a virus which we were not ready for. The Bluebird itself is a symbol of hope, love and empathy, reconnection with nature and each other.

Search for Atopon. Part 1. The Sail. Why we are Atopon?

Atopon is a Greek word and means extravagance, eccentricity and absurd, but not only. This broader meaning attracts many writers and philosophers. For instance, Roland Barthes in A Lover’s Discourse named Atopon as “unclassifiable, of a ceaselessly unforeseen originality”. Plato identified ATOPON as “ place without a place, place where we can find a centre of our authenticity, perceive integrity of our soul”.
We started searching “this inner place” through a series of photoshoots. We feel that the images help us to articulate our impression of this philosophy, which developed around the word Atopon.
Our first photo challenge was driven by an urge to explore a far- off place of Atopon and self- authenticity. We have been inspired by the images of the sea, an imaginative sail as a symbol of freedom, and space around which gave us a sense of unlimited discovery.

Почему мы Атопон?
Атопон – это греческое слово, означающее экстравагантность, необычность и абсурд, но не только это. Достаточно широкое значение этого слова привлекало многих писателей и философов. К примеру Ролан Бард в «Записках влюбленных» обозначил значение слова «Атопос» как «не классифицируемый, обладающий вечно непредвиденной самобытностью». Платон определил Атопон как «место без места, пространство где мы можем отыскать центр нашей аутентичности, постичь бесконечность души».
Мы начали наш поиск Атопон через фотографические образы. Именно эта форма показалась нам наиболее привлекательной и понятной, для самовыражения того, как мы чувствуем значение этого слова и философии, возникшей вокруг него.
Наша первая фотосессия была направлена на исследование собственной аутентичности в этом загадочном «месте без места». В результате мы выбрали образы моря, символический образ паруса, обозначающий свободу, и бесконечное пространство вокруг нас, дающее ощущение безграничного исследования и открытий.

Four Elements of Matter. 24 hrs live stream performance. Post-production video.

Guys, please have a look at the Post-production video of our first 24 hrs live streaming performance which was dedicated to the theme of unity via sharing the images of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth.
The ancients Greek believed that the whole World was created from these four essential elements. All these elements are the parts of matter or the physical universe, and the human body is a physical creation existing in the material realm. Maintaining a balance between these elements encouraged physical and psychological harmony.
Participants from more than ten countries contributed together during 24 hrs to share the beauty of their places. We are thankful for each of the participants for their support and an exceptional world view which they shared with us!

Moreover, we have been lucky to have an opportunity to get the unique soundtrack by a fantastic Scottish musician Fraser Fifield.

Друзья, мы смастерили трехминутное видео из 24-часового материала нашего первого онлайн перформанса, основная тема которого – единение через обмен изображениями Огня, Воды, Воздуха и Земли.

Древние греки верили, что Мир был создан из четырех основных элементов – Огня, Воды, Воздуха и Земли. Все эти элементы части физического мира, как и человеческое тело. Баланс между этими элементами – вторили греки- помогает человеку достичь физической и эмоциональной гармонии.
Участники из более чем десяти стран мира объединились, чтобы в течение 24 -х часов поделиться красотой своего края. Мы благодарим каждого из участников за их поддержку и уникальный взгляд на мир, которым они показали онлайн.

Особое спасибо прекрасному, шотландскому музыканту, Фрейзеру Фифилду за его трек “Past is Past” который украсил наше видео.

Elements of matter. Flashmob of unity!
24 hrs live stream performance for everyone!

That is the first performance of Atopon Collective. We are thrilled to make a new step into Art together with you. Here is the story which we called " Four elements of matter".

The ancients Greek believed that the World was created from four essential elements – Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. All these elements are the parts of matter or the physical universe, and the human body is a physical creation existing in the material realm. Maintaining a balance between these elements encouraged physical and psychological harmony.

Comprehension of the presence of these four fundamental elements inside and outside us enables us to create these unique images of Fire ( Sun/Moon/Starts), Water ( drops, streams, sea, ocean), Air ( The Sky), and Earth (field, garden).

The images of four elements of matter can help us to find more points of common ground, bring us together, no matter where or how we live.

The theme of unity is leading topic of our 24 hrs live stream performance which takes place IN THREE HOURS TIME on the 4th of September and starts at 12 am till 12 am next day (you can join at any/many time during 24 hrs)

Это первый перформанс нашего артистического обьединения - Atopon Collective. Мы волнуемся и наслаждаемся этим уникальным моментом начала. И первый шаг , мы сделали в сторону основ всех основ - четырех элементов.

Древние греки верили, что Мир был создан из четырех основных элементов – Огня, Воды, Воздуха и Земли. Все эти элементы части физического мира, как и человеческое тело. Баланс между этими элементами – вторили греки- помогает человеку достичь физической и эмоциональной гармонии.

Осознание присутствия этих фундаментальных частей вселенной внутри и вокруг нас, дает нам возможность создать эти уникальные образы Огня (Солнце/Луна/Звезды),Воды ( капли, ручей, море, океан), Воздуха ( Небо, ветер который раскачивает ветви деревьев) и Земли( земля в саду, за окном, поля).

Образы четырёх частей вселенной смогут помочь найти те многочисленные точки соприкосновения, которые объединят нас, где бы мы ни находились географически и какие бы обстоятельства нас не окружали.

Именно теме единения посвящен наш 24-х часовой перформанс, который начнется УЖЕ ЧЕРЕЗ 3 ЧАСА в 12 ночи 4-го сентября и продолжится до 12 ночи следующего дня.
