Another one! Introducing Dominica...

Where do you plan to be in 10 years time?
Most likely freelancing in Manchester, having stayed an extra year in Edinburgh to get the most out of the city and then spent a year working in Australia (fingers crossed). Hoping to get into the animated music video business!

What is a body part you wouldn't mind losing?
Ni***es for sure. Those pesky, ugly, useless lumps that do nothing but get in the way. My life would be significantly improved without them.

Favourite movie?
I adore Gaspar Noe’s Climax, it’s an incredibly immersive, beautiful, enthralling and disturbing visual feast (I will never NOT obsess over the cinematography). Other than that, I mostly enjoy 70s/80s horror movies, especially of the B variety.

What made you choose to study animation?
I fit the stereotype.

Finally introducing Yvette!
Stay tuned for details coming later today for the event...
This is Yvette Yang from China.
I'm 20 years old and was previously living in Cyprus before coming to Edinburgh and started my study as an animation student in ECA.
My hobbies include reading, collecting stuff that I would probably never use and sitting around doing nothing (okay, that's not really a hobby, but I'm an unmotivated potato 78% of the time so).
I usually complete the drawing process of my animation in procreate, then finish the editing part in Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects.

Introducing.... Patrick Colquhoun

Fav Movie?

Hard to say because I like a lot of movies but if you had to force me to pick only one and I'm allowed to cheat a bit, I count the Lord of the Rings trilogy as one movie so I'll say that.

If you could invite anyone (dead or alive) to dinner, who would you invite?

Bob Ross

Who would you want to play you in a movie?

Charlie Day

What is a body part you wouldn't mind losing?

Left ring finger, i actually get really anxious about the idea of even hurting my right hand because I use it to draw and I don't want to not draw.

What made you choose to study animation?

I mean I've liked animation since I was small, but the main thing that made me want to pursue it was a combination of various Nickelodeon shows from the late 90s to the early 2000s, (mainly Spongebob and Avatar) and the behind the scenes features they'd sometimes air on tv or package with a DVD.

Introducing Leo....

Cat or Dog?
Cat.

If you could invite anyone (dead) to dinner, who would you invite?
My elder sister (or brother) who gone before birth.

Fav Anime (or manga)?
A lot, but I’ll list my top 3 as Bakuman, Blue Period and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

The latest things that annoys you?
My upstairs neighbour bought a Treadmills.

What made you choose to study animation?

I didn’t watch a lot of anime when I am small, I can only read manga from book store because having a strict parent. I remember the first anime I could finish is Kill La Kill, and those moving images just… keeps in my mind. Then I look at my drawing, thinking it would be really cool if all of them can move, so I start my path to being an animation student.

Introducing Dan...

Name: Dan

Favourite movie: Difficult to say because I can’t remember half of what I watch. But I’d have to say into the spider verse left the biggest impact on me in recent years.

If you could invite anyone (dead or alive) to dinner who would you invite: I would probably invite Julias Caesar cuz he was stabbed to death on my birthday.

Who would you want to play you in a movie: Either The Rock or The Mountain. Someone to really match my physique.

What is a body part you wouldn’t mind losing: Probably my ear as I’ve never been that good at listening so I don’t really need it

What made you choose to study animation? The illustration course rejected me.
