For 10 days beginning July 7th, Southhouse Road will be closed, from the junction of Southhouse Avenue to the junction of Burdiehouse Street.

Burdiehouse Street will also be closed from Burdiehouse Crossway, with Southhouse Crescent closed from Southhouse Crossway.

These are a few of the streets surrounding the studio, so when traveling to the studio for classes, please bare in mind that you may need to park a little further away than usual - but don’t let this put you off class, we still want to pole with you all as usual!

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 Let me introduce our second workshop for our birthday celebrations! This one is double trouble in the form of the incredible double act that is Kira and Sara of Sunshine Fitness in Fife!

Doubles POLE DANCE

Kira and Sara have trained together for a decade and love nothing more than creating a doubles routine with some cute transitions and low pole tricks in there too. In this workshop you will learn some of Kira and Sara's favourite doubles dancey tricks that we will then put into a routine, created especially for Empire. Come and join us, bring your pole bestie or come along yourself and we'll pair you up.

Heels are optional but kneepads are essential.

No doubles experience required.

Our doubles workshop will be Tuesday 18 March 18:00-19:30.

Allow me to introduce our first special guest instructor for Empire’s third birthday this March. is joining us on 05/03/2025 for two of her iconic workshops. We have Static Rotations and Kips, Flips and Tricks. These two 75minute workshops will really help you level up your pole game.

Ezme is a pole dance instructor, performer and contortionist, known for her incredible flexibility, long legs and elegant movements, for the past 7 years she has been performing and competeing all around the Uk, winning the title of Elite UK champion in 2022. She has been teaching pole for 5 years, specialising in advanced to elite level tricks, static rotations, heels tricks and kips and extreme flexy moves such as rainbow marchenko and Eagle.

Static Rotations 17:30-18:45 : £35.00 Learn the basics of static rotations and explore different movement patterns on the pole. Different progressions for different levels

Kips, Flips & Tricks 18:45-20:00 : £35.00 Learn handstands with the pole, building up to floor based kips, flips , drops and other twizzley combos. Pole heels and knee pads are a must. No experience dancing in heels needed but is preferred.

It’s official, we have a venue for the showcase. We’ve had to move the date from the originally planned “end of March” and it is now 16/03/2025 at Danderhall Miner’s Club. It’s closer to home (studio home) than our original venue with a huge dance floor and a stage. Loads of space for guests (tickets are now on sale btw 😉). Doors open at 6.15pm and show will start at 6.45pm. We have the venue until 11.30pm where we can stay, drink, dance and be merry to celebrate 3 amazing years of Empire Pole Studio. We’ve will also have some food and nibbles on the night as well. Tickets are £20 with raffle tickets available at the studio and on the night.

What a way to (almost) finish off the pole year! I’m filled with so much joy and pride after that showcase tonight. From first time performers to seasoned vets, you all absolutely smashed it. Thank you to every single person who supports Empire Pole Studio. From our students and instructors to your family and friends who come along to watch the incredible work you put in. It’s such a joy to be part of something so positive and inspiring. Thank you to Zara Effie and Maz Stone for coaching our students to be so impressive on that stage. Thank you to Beth Walker for bringing to Empire and to Shaden Abdel-Aziz for teaching them every week. There are so many other people I’d love to name and tag in this post but with a couple of weeks left of 2024, I’m sure I’ll squeeze one more post in.
