I haven’t posted on social media for a very long time by my goodness these guys deserve a massive shout out. Today we visited the newly opened at Vogrie House to celebrate Fearne’s birthday. What an incredible experience. The setting is absolutely magical and the hosts were so, so welcoming, warm and helpful, with some many thoughtful and personal touches. Fearne and her friends had an absolute ball and we made some really special memories. Tell your pals, take your kids… you won’t be disappointed! 🧙🏻‍♀️✨🥰 thank you, thank you for making our girl’s birthday so special. Thanks to all her friends for travelling out - we think the journey was worth it!

This week a team of our S6 Astronauts launched Marseum 900 to our S1 pupils. This project will run in partnership with the English and Art department over the next three weeks with support from PE to facilitate excursions and will focus on developing learners' literacy and meta skills through storytelling and visual display. Our brief for this year is Edinburgh 900, where learners are challenged to creatively tell a story of Edinburgh as a city of leisure, culture of celebration and work towards a big public showcase of their fantastic work which will take place in school on Friday 21st March from 6 - 9 pm.

Just over 11k managed this evening in that brutal wind, with a face full of sand and my head phones died 5k in! 😫. Anyway I took a wee pic of my sandy face to celebrate crossing the 200 mile total footfall tonight. Not sure I’m making 100 miles running but I’ll get as close as my creeky auld ...

Sketchbookers!! Today marks the last day of our sketchbook exchange. We have come full circle! I can hardly believe it! You should now be posting your sketchbooks back to their original owners for the last time!

It can be hard, it can be easy, it can be strained, it can feel like just another thing on the to-do list, but I do sincerely hope you have enjoyed the connections you have made on whatever level they have sparked and it has helped you all build healthy habits in your creative practice.

You’ve been a quieter bunch than last year on the sharing front… (I never know with these algorithms) so I’m even more looking forward to seeing all the books. I will be dropping an email out to everyone this evening in the hope of organising an end of circle gathering/exhibition if there is an appetite - I hope there is. Whether you made 2 months or 12 months, missed a few, fell out of rhythm or posted every month… EVERYONE is welcome. ❤️

Sketchbookers it’s time! You should be sending your own books off for the last time to be drawn in throughout July and returned for the very last time at the end of the month.

Sketchbookers! I’m so beyond late with my “get ready to post” post this month. I am so sorry. I hope you have posted - I am also late with own sketchbook!

I made the decision at the start of the year to delete social media apps from my phone. I could feel the weight of them pressing on my mind and restricting my capacity to be present with my wee ones… it has been transformational to put that boundary in place. BUT I don’t want to abandon you, I should have set an alarm to remind me to sign in and check in with you at the start of the month but this one has been particularly busy. (It’s exactly what I chime on to you all about 🙈) We are human, I hope you can forgive me!

I also hope that for most of you, you are happily ping-ponging with your partners and continuing to enjoy the dialogue. I would still love to see your work so do still continue to send or tag and I WILL share, it might just not be right away!

I’ve had a few messages about when it’s finishing and if there will be a showcase like last year. To answer the first part, we started in August so to complete the year your last exchange should be at the end of July when your own book should find its way back to you. And as for the second question… I WOULD LOVE TO! I the richest part of this whole experience is the celebration of human connection so it would be great to see them in 3D, are you keen???
