🎬 Meet the director of Reconnection this weekend!

Local filmmaker Amy Helena is the director of Reconnection, a British Sign Language short film screening as part of our special BSL Film Club x Scottish Q***r International Film Festival event at Filmhouse Edinburgh.

Made as part of GMAC Little Pictures commissioning scheme, Reconnection explores communication, connection and the emotional distance that can grow between two people.

We’re delighted that Amy will also be joining us after the screening for a director Q&A, giving audiences the chance to hear more about the story behind Reconnection and the process of bringing a BSL film to the screen ❤️

The event also includes a screening of Close to You (2023), starring Elliot Page.

📅 Sunday 20 September

🎟️ Find full event details, accessibility information and tickets via the link in our stories or the Filmhouse website.

Join us for a special screening of Reconnection, a British Sign Language short film from local filmmaker Amy Helena.

Made as part of GMAC's Little Pictures commissioning scheme, this short film is a visual story of connection and communication.

A couple’s argument is interrupted by a blackout. In candlelight, silence gives way to honesty, helping them reconnect and bridge the emotional distance between them.

Join us afterwards for a filmmaker Q&A with Amy Helena ❤️
