🎙️ WE’RE BACK — EXPLORE EDGBASTON PODCAST

After taking a little time out to rest, recharge and find a better balance between work, family and everything else life brings, I’m really happy to say that Explore Edgbaston Podcast – Edgbaston Voices is back.

This podcast started with a simple idea: to give a voice to the brilliant people, independent businesses, charities and community projects that make our local area what it is.

Along with my four-legged co-host Benji, I’m looking forward to getting behind the microphone again and bringing you:

• Local business stories
• Community voices
• Inspiring people and projects
• Charity and community features
• Honest, real conversations
• And plenty of Benji appearances along the way!

Taking a break reminded me that sometimes you need to slow down in order to come back with more energy, more ideas and a clearer sense of why you started.

And I’m definitely not finished yet.

🎧 New episodes are coming soon.

I’m also looking for future guests. If you’re a local business owner, charity, community group, creative, campaigner or simply someone with an interesting story to tell, I’d love to hear from you.

🌳 PLEASE SUPPORT THIS COMMUNITY MEETING – SAVE THE GREEN 🌳

I just wanted to share this because I think it’s really important.

I haven’t organised this meeting – it’s being organised by residents from the Sir Richards Drive community – but as someone who lives locally, I wanted to help spread the word.

For me and my dog Benji, this green is part of our daily routine. We walk here most days, and it’s somewhere that really helps my mental health. It’s a peaceful place where people walk their dogs, exercise, chat with neighbours and simply enjoy being outdoors.

One thing I’ve always noticed is how respectful people are. Dog owners generally clear up after their pets, and together we’ve kept this green a lovely place for everyone to enjoy.

The thought of losing it to housing is really sad. It’s not just about losing grass and trees – it’s about losing a place that brings our community together.

We’re already experiencing constant learner driver traffic on the surrounding roads, which affects parking and adds to congestion outside residents’ homes. Further development could put even more pressure on the area and permanently change the feel of our neighbourhood.

If, like me, you value our green spaces, please consider attending the meeting to find out more and support the campaign.

📅 Wednesday 15th October
🕕 6:00pm

Whether you live nearby, walk your dog here, or simply believe local green spaces should be protected, your support could make a real difference.

💚 I’m simply sharing this to help raise awareness for the residents who are working hard to protect this special place for future generations.

Please share this post so more local people hear about the meeting.

By⚽🎶 Introducing the Edgbaston World Cup Anthem 2026! 🎶⚽

What started as a fun creative idea has turned into a celebration of everything that makes Edgbaston special.

The song highlights the incredible local businesses, cafés, bars, restaurants and community venues that bring our area to life, while capturing the excitement of coming together to support England during the World Cup.

From the bustling cafés and restaurants along Edgbaston and Harborne, to the traffic on Hagley Road, local landmarks, community groups, and the fantastic people who make our neighbourhood what it is – this song is a love letter to our local community.

As host of the Explore Edgbaston Podcast, I’m passionate about supporting independent businesses and shining a spotlight on the people behind them.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support local businesses and community events across Edgbaston, Harborne, Bearwood, Quinton and beyond.
