We are sad to announce that our staff found a deceased cat in the grounds of the park this morning. It is a white and grey ragdoll with no collar. It has been taken to Staveley Vets to see if has a chip.

We hope you are all keeping cool during these extremely hot days. If you are looking for some shade and a cooler spot, the picnic benches under the trees at Stead Street Park could be the perfect place to relax while enjoying an ice cream, slushy or iced drink. ☀️🍦🥤

Please remember to stay hydrated, apply sun cream and wear a hat — especially important when visiting with children.

So if you are planning a day out over the half-term holidays, make sure to visit Stead Street Play Park and pop into our cafe for some cold treats!

We serve iced teas, iced coffees, cold drinks, ice lollies, slushes, and ice creams 🍦🥤. P.S. home made ice cream even for doggies!

We’re open daily from 8am – 5pm, including Bank Holiday Monday! 😊
