As the curtain falls on our production of Footloose, we wanted to take a moment to say the biggest thank you to every single person who helped make this week so special.
To our incredible cast, thank you for your commitment, talent, resilience and enthusiasm from the very first rehearsal to the final curtain call. You brought this story to life with such energy, passion and heart, and we could not be prouder of everything you achieved.
To our amazing crew, thank you for working tirelessly behind the scenes. So much of what makes a production successful happens out of the spotlight, and your hard work, professionalism and dedication never went unnoticed.
To our wonderful chaperones, thank you for giving your time so generously and for taking such great care of our young people throughout the rehearsal process and performances. Your support means more than you know.
A huge thank you to the fantastic team at The Met for welcoming us so warmly and for helping everything run so smoothly. We are incredibly grateful for your support and expertise.
To all of our families, thank you. Thank you for the countless lifts to rehearsals, the costume help, the late evenings, the words of encouragement, the patience and the unwavering support you give our young people throughout the year. None of what we do would be possible without you standing behind them every step of the way.
Friday night came with shock, surprise and huge honour, and we would like to say a very special thank you to the families and members of Showstoppers who took the time to nominate our team for the High Sheriff of Gwent’s recognition for ‘Great and Valuable Services to the Community’. To know that our work has had such a positive impact on so many families means more than we could ever put into words. While we were the individuals nominated, this recognition belongs to our entire Showstoppers family. It reflects the kindness, encouragement, friendships and community that every single one of you helps to create. We are truly honoured and sincerely grateful for your support.
To our audiences, thank you for filling the theatre with laughter, cheers, applause and so much encouragement.
A huge thank you to Huw and Stage Lighting Services for installing our permanent set structure, Celtic Props for the detailed and authentic set dressing and props, to MJ Lights for providing the fantastic media screen which helped bring our vision to life, to Green Room Events for delivering brilliant sound throughout the production, and to Emily Hoskins for creating the most amazing Footloose cake pops that were enjoyed by our cast.
Productions like this are never created by just the people on stage. They are built by an entire community of people who give their time, skills, encouragement and support so generously. We are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people.
Finally, if we have unintentionally missed mentioning anyone individually, please know that it is never through lack of appreciation. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, has helped make this production the success that it has been, and we are sincerely grateful to each and every one of you.
Thank you for helping make Footloose such an unforgettable journey. We hope you enjoyed every moment as much as we did, and we cannot wait to do it all again.
