The Sorting Office

The Sorting Office Designer-maker studios in the heart of Eastleigh.

The Sorting Office is a creative hub launched as part of the European-funded initiative Recreate and opened in 2013 by Wayne Hemingway MBE. This facility offers affordable workspace to artists and makers within a supportive environment to help them to develop their creative practices and grow their business. Formerly located in Eastleigh’s former Royal Mail sorting office built in the 1920s, this

unique space offers shared creative studio spaces and some individual studio spaces and is now located on the main road through Eastleigh at Station Hill opposite Eastleigh Train Station. Recreate was a cross-Channel partnership of 14 organisations in South East England and Northern France, backed by European funding agency Interreg. Eastleigh Borough Council was a leading partner in this initiative which aimed to regenerate local areas by supporting growth in the creative economy. The Sorting Office is conveniently located opposite Eastleigh’s train Station and is a five minute drive from both the M3 and M27.
