A recent piece of work called ‘Della Vita’. Inspired by an abbey in Le Marche, Italy. It was coming to life beautifully! Painted linen, silk, voile, all sorts.

‘Al Fresco’ went off to its new home yesterday … it was in the Artseen exhibition at Hilliers Arboretum. Come along and see beautiful work from 11 Hampshire artists. Open until 7th March. This one is stitched fabric and painted collage papers.

And here’s another from the recent poppy series! Acrylics and gelli print papers.
It’s currently at the Artseen exhibition at Hilliers Arboretum….great exhibition of the work of 10 artists from the Romsey area. Last day is 7th March. We’re right next to the cafe! Come along and see some beautiful work.

Here’s one of my paintings in acrylics with some gelli print paper which is in the exhibition at the moment at Hilliers Arboretum. I’m lucky enough to be exhibiting with Artseen until Thursday 7th March….come along and see a wonderful variety of work. Entry is free and we’re next to the cafe!

I’ve been having a breather….and a birthday celebration which I’m extending for as long as I can get away with….I’ve had the paints out….and pulled out some old paintings to work with too.
Here’s one of the painting playtimes. Watercolour and Inktense onto a canvas with some acrylics. 8” square. I put a textured medium over the canvas so that it ‘took’ the watercolour paint….I’m not too sure whether I’ve finished with it. I may call it ‘Looking on the bright side’.

Come along and take a peek. ArtSeen is exhibiting in Romsey….and it’s now the final couple of days. This gorgeous painting on wood is by artist Mike Jolly. We have such a variety of styles - including textile art - there’s something for everyone. 9 - 5 today and 9 - 3 tomorrow. Just under the arch on the left hand side - part of the Romsey art trail in Hampshire Open Studios.

Come along and take a peek! I was stewarding a day or two ago. I like talking with people about the ArtSeen exhibition in Romsey for Hampshire Open Studios. Lots of lovely comments …. ‘Such a variety of work!’…and ‘There’s something to be enjoyed for everyone’….- come along and see for yourself! We also have jewellery and ceramic work by two local artists. Open through the bank holiday weekend but closing a bit early on Monday afternoon. Just under the arch on left hand side.

A new piece of work…..called - ‘There’s magic in the air’…..it’s at Open Studios with Artseen in Romsey. Painted linen and silk with foils and lots of stitch. I had in mind summer walks, overgrown paths, fresh air and fun - as simple as that!….well, maybe a picnic as well…..60 cms square.

It’s been quite a day. My piece of work entitled ‘Beyond the Abbey’ went off to it’s new home. It’s a strange feeling of happy and sad all at the same time…especially as people can take the work away immediately. So I decided to bring this quilt out to fill a gap! It goes well with some of the remaining pieces too!

OPEN STUDIOS BEGINS TOMORROW!
I’m lucky enough to be with ArtSeen….and we are exhibiting in charming Romsey…we’re just through the archway! United Reformed Church Hall. Open from 10.00 to 5 each day until the end of the bank holiday. We’re in the Hampshire Open Studios booklet and part of the Romsey Art trail.
We have beautiful art and we’re not afraid to show it off!
I’ve celebrated by having a new greetings card printed of a recent piece of work…appropriately called ‘Beyond the Abbey’!

The studio feels empty. Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my gorgeous studio dog, Sophie. She has been my constant companion for more than 11 years. She was a dog who loved fabric and beachcombing even more than me! She travelled to Italy and back in our camper van 18 times. She was a rescue Bichon Frise…but actually we rescued each other. So many happy memories! I’m pleased that I was with her to the end. There had better be a dog-heaven because she deserves it.

Getting ready for Hampshire Open Studios which is only a few weeks away. I will be exhibiting with Artseen in Romsey.
This piece will be there. Painted silks with lots of appliqué, print and stitch.
