Stop burying your lyrics in generic production. 🎙️
When an artist has written gut-wrenching lyrics, the last thing the song needs is a massive wall of sound drowning out the message.
For this alt-rock worship track, we were pulling heavily from that early Paramore energy, but instead of rushing to stack a dozen guitars in the intro, we focused on holding space.
I used psychoacoustics—manipulating the width and depth of the stereo field—to create a restless, evolving atmosphere underneath an incredibly intimate vocal. It creates movement and tension, even when almost nothing is actually playing.
Worship doesn’t have to fit into one sonic box to be powerful. It just has to be honest.
