Lord Lionel Pogley has been shot twice through the heart on Platform Two. This has done nothing for the timetable.

On Friday 25th September, Murder on the Morlington Express pulls into The Grove for our latest Murder Mystery Supper.

There is a flustered station master, the Honourable Pippa Pogley, her valiant young fiancé, an anonymous note and, somewhere among it all, a murderer who has plainly gone to rather more trouble than was necessary.

Your table becomes the investigating team. Follow the clues, question what you are told and work out who killed Lord Lionel — and why. Somewhere along the way we shall also feed you, which is more than most murder investigations manage.

Supper is a buffet of cold meats, cheeses, pâtés, salads, breads and pickles, and the team that gets closest to the truth goes home with a bottle of bubbly.

Our new Autumn 2026 What’s On guide has arrived.

Between September and December, The Grove moves from drama to live music, comedy to film, murder mysteries to Christmas shows — with more than a few excursions into territories that resist easy classification.

Among the highlights are ‘Allo ‘Allo, The Times of Bob Dylan, Kenneth Williams: A Centenary Celebration, Ska Tracks, A Christmas Carol, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, and a full programme of music, cinema and seasonal events.
