East Leake Amateur Players ELAPS is an Amateur Dramatics group located in the Village of East Leake in Rural Nottinghamshire.

The group is self funded and run by its members who comprise more than 40 in number with ages ranging from 10 to 80! ELAPS typically hold 2 major productions a year although the Junior group may sometimes boost this to 3 or 4

The main productions take place in May and December

, with the December production being Pantomime based. There are many roles to play in an Amateur Dramatics group and often more of them are backstage rather that those that result in appearances on the stage, we're always interested in new members who want to come along and join us. It might still be summer, but our focus is now on Christmas as we have begun rehearsing for "Cinderella - Not Quite a Panto" which will be on at East Leake Village Hall from 2nd to 5th December 2026. A fun show for the whole family (well except from Uncle Bobby who isn't allowed out in public since the cream horn incident!). Keep following this page for details of where to buy tickets!

We may be in the middle of a lovely hot summer, but Elaps are already turning their attention to Christmas 🎅. Auditions for "Cinderella - Not Quite a Panto" are being held tonight & next Thursday at East Leake Village Hall. Written and directed by our very own Gill Bowness. Dates for your diary - panto week will be 2nd to 5th December 2026. Oh yes it will!! Keep following for details.

Yesterday lots of us were celebrating the marriage of 2 fabulous Elaps members who met at Elaps when they were both juniors! A wonderful day of love & laughter.
Today we put aside our slightly sore heads to have our dress rehearsal of Blackadder. Even the father of the bride was doing his bit backstage!

This afternoon our fabulous juniors performed "A Baa-rilliant Trip" to friends & family. All money raised from this afternoons show will be donated to East Leake Village Hall. It was a fantastic performance from everyone involved.
